Welcome to Beady Pool
Beads found by Veryan at Beady Pool as a child.
|Beady Pool offers a colourful collection of beautiful bespoke jewellery pieces, specialising in the use of handmade lampwork beads complimented with sterling silver.|
These unique pieces are the work of Veryan, a self-taught jewellery artist who has been creating since her childhood. She draws inspiration from her Cornish background to create wonderfully simple pieces, which are evocative of the ocean, coastline and moors with which she had grown up and which echo the flora and fauna of her native countryside.
Indeed, the name Beady pool refers to coastal waters off the Isles of Scilly where a 17th century Dutch sailing vessel ran aground spilling its cargo of glass beads. Explorers in the shallow water can still find these beads today, as Veryan once did many years ago.
Veryan’s fascination with the process of lampworking has seen her take personal courses with Laura Sparling one of the UK’s finest bead makers with an aim to one day be making her own beads to use within her designs. She has also been extending her silver skills by taking lessons with Janet Richardson and sees the range evolving to incorporate more of her own silverwork in the near future.
